Northwest Equine Stewardship Center (NWESC) will be holding a Gelding Clinic on Saturday, Oct. 8. Space is limited to only 15 stallions and there’s still room for more horses, so please spread the word!
This is NWESC’s second Gelding Clinic of 2016. Thanks to the generous support of the DJ&T Foundation, which was founded by Bob Barker, this gelding clinic has a suggested donation of only $50 per horse. This clinic offers this important surgical procedure to rescues and qualifying owners one final time this year.
Every year, as many as 140,000 “unwanted” equines are slaughtered in the United States. NWESC, Cedarbrook Farms, and the DJ&T Foundation are collaborating to help reduce the number of unwanted horses in our region. The Gelding Clinics also provide veterinary students with valuable, cruelty-free, hands-on learning opportunities in an environment where they can learn about the community’s equine needs while under the direct supervision of licensed, highly experienced veterinarians. It’s a win-win for everyone involved.
Pre-registration is required for participation and there are still a few spots available. For an application, please visit www.NWESC.org or call them at (206) 940-8589.
