On Friday, December 14, GreaterGood.org partnered with the Animal Rescue Site to deliver much-needed pet food, supplies, and toys to homeless Seattle-area pets.

The Rescue Bank Holiday Gift Drop kicked off a national gift drive for homeless pets. The food and supplies, which included blankets, bowls, leashes, and toys, arrived at Seattle Humane on Friday morning and benefited Seattle Humane, Seattle Area Feline Rescue, Dog Gone Seattle, Forever Home Dog Rescue, Rescue Every Dog, and Wags to Riches.

Noah Horton, who has been with GreaterGood.org for six years, explained why these donations are so impactful. “We work with pet food manufacturers for donations, as pet food is one of the number one costs at shelters,” he said. “Providing donated food can help offset other expenses, such as veterinary care.”

GreaterGood.org is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that strives to improve the well being of people, pets, and the planet. Over the course of the past decade, the organization has donated more than $175 million to charitable partners worldwide. The Animal Rescue Site, founded in 2002, provides food and care for animals in need worldwide.

“We want to share the mission that when a lot of people come together with small actions, we can get big results,” Noah said.

GreaterGood.org, in conjunction with Seattle-based The Animal Rescue Site and GreaterGood.com, worked together to ensure that homeless pets would also have a happy holiday season. These donations will help the participating shelters start off on the right paw, as well.
