Opened in 2015, Dogwood Play Park is the Emerald City’s solution to cold, rainy evenings and hot summer days where you need a cool place to play (and for human guests, a place to grab a brew and chat with like-minded friends). Dogwood’s owners, Lex, Tara, and Austin, are dedicated to providing a fun experience for dogs and their people, too. The park features indoor and outdoor play areas, a special area for small and/or timid dogs, and doggy day care “day stays” that started on July 5.
According to Tara, Dogwood Play Park was the brainchild of her wife, Lex; Austin developed the business plan, and then the trio put their blood, sweat, and tears in to make their dream a reality. “The best thing about Dogwood has been all of the amazing dogs and humans we’ve gotten to know!” Tara said. “We’ve developed such close relationships with our members. We see them all the time and they feel like family.”
Dogwood isn’t just a “dog park;” it’s a people park, too: it’s a wonderful social environment for humans and canines alike. Enjoy a cider or a beer while you watch your dog play indoors or out. Lounge and catch a game on one of Dogwood’s TVs, enjoy a board game, grab a bite from one of the visiting food trucks, and meet other Seattle-area pet lovers. Dogwood is a 21 and over establishment and current vaccination records (Rabies, bordetella, and DHP) are required to play. You can email your records in advance.
